The Gift Process
Gift Agreement – For all pledges and gifts of $10,000 and over, a gift agreement is drafted by staff and signed by the donor. This agreement outlines the purpose, form, schedule and administration of the gift. For gifts under $10,000, the donor may designate the use of the gift on the check, note or other documentation.
Convert to Cash – Non-cash gifts (e.g., securities & real-estate) will be converted to cash assets, unless otherwise directed.
Place Gift in Account – Gifts are placed in a designated account and disbursed according to donor’s preferences. If the gift is unrestricted, the WTC Foundation will apply the gift according to where there is the greatest need and where it will make the biggest impact.
Send a receipt – Every gift whether large or small is recognized and appreciated. A receipt and thank you is mailed for every gift.
The WTC Foundation supports and abides by the Donor Bill of Rights developed and endorsed by the Association of Fundraising Professions (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Giving Institute.
