Thirty Students Inducted into Psi Zeta, the WTC Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa
On Friday, April 5, 2024, thirty Western Texas College students were inducted into the Psi Zeta chapter of the Psi Theta Kappa honor society.
Phi Theta Kappa acts as the official honor society for community colleges across the world, with more than 3.8 million inducted members since its inception in 1918.
College President Dr. Barb Beebe welcomed students, and Vice President and Dean of Student Services Ralph Ramon inducted new members. Jimmy Fanchers, Director of Library Services, and Laura Caswell, Director of Counseling serve as the advisors for the chapter.
The Psi Zeta chapter officers for 2023- 2024 are Mickaela Muleton, President; Cari Stanley, Vice President; Sofie Jensen, Secretary; and Jessica San Agustine-Martinez, Treasurer.
Of the thirty inducted, fourteen were dual credit students. New Phi Theta Kappa members include: Vivica Addison, Carmen Austin, Kyle Beights, Reagan Bollinger, Harley Brown, Kyler Deere, Scarlett Fuentes, Brylie Gage, Lilly Gansauge, James Gaspar, Kimberly Gutierrez Zuniga, Ana Islas, Sydnee Koonsman, Soren Krog, Ruben Kuevi, Matilyn Lowery, Lucinda Mancha, Sylvia Martinez, Sayge McCambridge, Bethany Norton, Anaya Paredes, Isaac Rocha, Benjamin Rubio, Jessica San Agustine-Martinez, Madalyn Shield, Marcos Soria Ballina, Cari Stanley, Benjamin Turnbow, Daniella Vela, and Vonnie Watts.
WTC’s campus chapter, Psi Zeta, was established in the spring of 1972 by Dr. Duane and Dr. Mary Hood.
